three colour mono-type printmaking

Last week students here at the Arts Academy in Cardiff tried three colour reduction monotype printmaking. This involves working on threes separate transparent plates over a single master drawing. Process colours – magenta, yellow and cyan – are applied to the plates with a roller to each plate then carefully worked into by subtracting the inks with cotton buds. The finished plates are then brought together on the press. Please follow this link for more information about this brilliant printmaking process.
