By Sam Rea, Josh Brimble, Matt Evans, Oliver Boobier, Ben Thomas, Chloe Morgan, Mitchell Ewings, Iwan William, Adam King, Elliot Rattery

This Sculpture was created by students of the Foundation Course in Art and Design at The Arts Academy in Cardiff. It is their response to being asked by the White Ribbon Campaign to create a structure on which to hang pledges. The students chose the form of the tree to reflect the need for growth, renewal and healing embodied in the natural world.

The White Ribbon Campaign is a chance for men to stand in solidarity with women against all forms of Violence and abuse. The day began with a march through Newport with AM John Griffiths, AM Jayne Bryant and police commissioner Jeff Cuthbert. This arrived at the Riverfront Arts Centre where speeches were made and pledges written and hung on the tree.
